The festive season could prove costly for ill-equipped bars and clubs says a specialist insurer. After a slow 2006, pubs and clubs are working flat out to pull in the punters this Christmas, but experts from Marsh Bar and Club Insurance specialists are warning party venues to take the time to check they are risk prepared. With an anticipated £5.4 billion being spent in bars, pubs and clubs throughout the UK over the Christmas period, the main priorities for venues are keeping customers happy by stockpiling drinks and employing temporary staff. But Marsh Bar and Club Insurance estimates increased trade means insurance risks for bars and clubs could go up by a third.
